About Sugar Mouse Marketing

Hi, I’m Samantha – the founder of Sugar Mouse Marketing.

I started Sugar Mouse to help businesses grow their brand through standout websites, strategic social media, and scroll-stopping content. Whether you need full web design support or a little extra help with photography or video, I’m here to bring your ideas to life online.

I love working with brands that aim to empower, inspire, and build confidence – particularly those in the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle space. That said, I’m always open to exciting projects in other industries too.

My love for social media started way back in the day with MySpace where I loved connecting with people through music and playing about with HTML to customise my page. At the time, digital communications wasn’t really a thing and I didn’t think a career in this area was possible until I published my first blog post.

Through my beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blog, I built a loyal community, shared advice, and collaborated with brands like Nivea, QVC, Superdrug, Hotels.com, and Moonpig.com. I even organised an international make-up swap!

Once I realised it was possible to have a career in writing and working in the digital world, I completed a master’s in multimedia journalism, where I developed my writing style, gained knowledge in broadcast journalism, mobile journalism and designing for print. During my degree I worked in a variety of places from a small news room in the Shetland Islands to a large Scottish based magazine based in Glasgow.

Since then I’ve worked in communications, spending most of my time within the Higher Education sector. During my time in the HE sector I’ve worked on a variety of exciting projects such as:

  • Creating an initial social media strategy and content plan for Una Europa (an alliance of European universities) and live Tweeting from its launch event in Brussels

  • Producing a marketing pack shared with seven European universities for the promotion of a cross university Summer School. This included content for social media, emails and website copy

  • Creating a social media campaign based around International Students’ Day that was well received throughout the university and had great engagement via social media and on the dedicated web pages that were created
